Can you believe that postage rates are once again going up? On May 14, 2007 standard rate for first class postage will increase to 41 cents. It seems like everytime the Post Office announces the rate increase, it is right after I have purchased a new roll of stamps, and I am then at the mercy of having to stick two or three or five cents stamps onto all of my mailings.
The Post Office is offering a "Simple Solution" this time around. Beginning in March the Post Office will offer new "Forever Stamps" which will be sold at the then current rate of postage (of course this time around the Forever Stamps are at the "higher" price of 41 cents). According to the United States Postal Service, these stamps will be good even if postage goes up again.
